CHARTS: Willow Sweeps iTunes

Willow Smiths debut single Whip My Hair has exceeded everyones sales expectations.

The 9 year old released the song on iTunes just two days ago and has already managed climb to number 2.

Ke$ha’s single We Are Who We R still holds the number 1 spot.

Rihanna’s single Only Girl has dropped to number 5.

Go Willow! I look forward to seeing her position on Billboard’s Hot 100.

RECORD DEAL: Willow Smith Joins Roc Nation

Will Smiths 9 year old daughter Willow Smith, has singed the dotted line with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

After releasing her single Whip My Hair, I’m not surprised that the single digit act signed a deal within days.

Hov shared the good news this morning:

“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow. She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious. It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”

Willow Smith is not the only one excited about the deal. Her mother Jada Pinkett Smith chimed in about how proud she is of her daughter. She said:

“After meeting with several record companies, it was clear that Jay-Z, Ty Ty, Jay Brown, and the Roc Nation staff was the unquestionable choice. Their passion for Willow combined with their boundless vision and artistic integrity made Roc Nation the perfect home for our little girl.”

A job well done to the Smiths! In case you missed Whip My Hair. Have a listen here:
